Davina Lomax Burns

My Family Tree Came With a Trigger Warning! I grew up in the small town of Henryville, Indiana, and took an unconventional path from high school dropout to CPA, business owner, educator, and writer. I have built a sacred, secure life for myself one hard-earned choice at a time. People often ask how I got here. But I believe the more important question is how I have stayed here: rooted, resilient, and still willing speak the truth. I share my stories not as polished success snapshots, but as lived experiences that hold both the ache and the beauty. The parts we carry. The parts we question. The parts we almost did not survive. Because when we speak honestly about where we come from, something shifts. We give others permission to hope. To heal. To imagine a different ending for themselves. My work is for anyone who has ever felt unseen, unheard, or “too much,” and is ready to reclaim their story on their own terms. I believe this deeply: Your Story Matters. Your Truth Heals.™

EXPERIENCE

About Our Brands

Truth Based Life™

Truth Based Life™ is the lighthouse at the center of everything I create — a steady inner compass for living, expressing, and staying grounded in truth.

It exists for people who have carried what they were taught to hide. When we begin to face what happened, understand how it shaped us, and speak honestly about the reactions and patterns that followed, shame begins to loosen its grip. We make room for resilience, connection, and a life that feels more honest and fully our own.

The lighthouse is not a finish line you reach only after you are healed. It is the steady point visible from every stage — the inner knowing, the compass, the place of return. You do not have to climb to the top before the work begins. The light is already here, and it is already yours.

From that center, four expressions carry the work into different forms: recognition, understanding, story, and voice. Woven through all four are tangible tools you can hold in your hands and carry into ordinary life.

You don't have to move through these in order. Healing is not a straight line. You may arrive through a song before you have named your story, or pick up a deck before you understand the patterns behind it. Wherever you enter, the lighthouse is already in view.

Raised In A Psychological Thriller™ — The Shore of Recognition

This can be where we begin.

Before we try to fix, explain, forgive, or transform anything, we learn to see what is there without judgment. We name the object before deciding whether it is beautiful or ugly. We observe the pattern before labeling ourselves broken. We notice what happened without comparing our pain to someone else's.

This is the shore — solid ground beneath your feet. A stable place from which you can look toward the water without being swallowed by it.

The work here is recognition: What happened? What did I learn to hide? What reaction keeps repeating? What am I carrying that no one else can see?

You do not have to solve what you see. First, you only have to see it.

Transforming Trauma into Triumph™ — The Boat and the Crossing

Once you can see the shoreline, you begin building the boat.

This is where you learn that what happened to you may have shaped your nervous system, your coping patterns, your relationships, and your sense of self — but it does not have to define every next choice. You explore, in plain language, how trauma and chronic stress can shape reactions and behaviors, the difference between responsibility and blame, how shame keeps people silent, and how small choices become a way forward.

We do not blame ourselves for what shaped us. We do claim agency for what comes next.

This is the printed and digital learning layer of the collection — journals, workbooks, educational materials, and creative resources to return to whenever the next chapter calls for structure. It is the practical companion you carry into the crossing, not a course or a clinical treatment.

H3nryville™ — The Waterline and the Story

H3nryville is where the story is named.

H3nryville is my true-crime and memoir universe — a personal trilogy, documentary projects, and story-driven work rooted in hometown and family history. But it also invites a quieter question: What is your H3nryville?

Not my town. Not my story. But the place, pattern, silence, relationship, season, or room in your own life where something changed.

This is where you might want to begin to write the story — at first only on paper, just for you. Then perhaps with one safe person. You can step into the water, feel it lap against your knees, and step back out whenever you need to.

You don't need to re-experience the pain in the story to tell it. Your feet remain grounded on the shore of truth. You may feel the waves, but you are allowed to return to land, look up, and notice the stars that were always there.

LyrAIcs Lab™ Studios — The Voice in the Wind

This is where the story finds sound.

A sentence carried quietly for years becomes a poem, a lyric, a melody, a spoken-word piece, a cinematic song. It is not simply creative work. It is the moment voice returns — and what silence could not hold, music can carry.

This is the studio where I write and share original songs, signature poems, and custom lyrics shaped by the themes running through the entire collection: truth, survival, memory, and reclaiming voice. First you see. Then you understand. Then you name. Then, here, you give it voice. Some are dark. Some are light. All have purpose.

Your Story Matters. Your Truth Heals.™ — The Lightkeeper Tools

These are the portable, daily tools you carry with you — the deck, the workbook, the journal, the worksheets, the playbooks, the bags and wearable reminders that turn reflection into a practice you can hold, like badges of courage.

They are lightkeeper tools: small objects that help a person return to themselves. And they are not only for the end of the journey. They support you at every point along the coastline — at the shore, in the boat, at the waterline, beneath the stars.

The method is four parts:

  • Notice — What is here?

  • Feel — What is true?

  • Tell — What happened?

  • Create — What can I make from what I know now?

One Belief at the Center

At the center of every brand and project is one enduring promise:

Your Story Matters. Your Truth Heals.™

Whether you arrive through a true-crime narrative, a memoir, a song, a workbook, a workshop, or a single prompt card, you are met with the same invitation: take your story seriously, reveal the truth at your own pace, and let that Truth become a beginning.

We begin by recognizing what is true. We build understanding and agency. We name the story. We give it voice. And eventually, we learn to stand in our own truth — steady enough to become a beacon for ourselves, and, when we are ready, if we choose, for others.

Survival is not the same as healing. But survival is the essential first step.

The light has been yours all along.
